Final Stage of St Arnaud Pool Redevelopment to Begin in February

Great news for locals and visitors to St Arnaud! The final stage of the $2.57 million redevelopment of the St Arnaud Swimming Pool is set to begin in February 2026.

Stage one of the project — which included upgraded change rooms, improved shower and toilet facilities, and a refurbished kiosk and administration area — has already been completed and officially opened by Northern Grampians Shire Council.

What’s Happening Next?

Stage two will focus on:

• Structural repairs to the pool

• Pool resurfacing and compliance upgrades

• Construction of a new beach-entry ramp to improve accessibility

• Concourse and surrounding area improvements

• Additional service installations and underground works

To allow these upgrades to begin, the pool will close earlier than usual for the 2025/26 summer season — closing on Sunday, 22 February.

Council has confirmed the works are scheduled to ensure the entire project is complete and ready for the 2026/27 summer season.

Summer Activities Still Available

Before the closure, residents and visitors can still enjoy:

• Summer school holiday programs

• Pool parties and family fun days

• A five-day intensive swimming program for children

The swimming program runs in January and includes both enrolled and non-enrolled children.
